Clean Streets Hero in Northridge.

Clean Streets Hero, Tom Johnson from the Northridge West Neighborhood Council leads a team of heroes, who get up every Thursday morning and work hard at keeping Los Angeles streets clean.

Northridge West NC President Tom Johnson has, for over 7 years, helped lead neighborhood clean-up efforts, named Operation Clean Sweep, all over Northridge with the help of strong partnerships and support from City Hall, community members, and Northridge West NC board members. Key partners include Councilman Mitch Englander and his staff, the Bureau of Sanitation, the Office of Community Beautification, the Kiwanis Club, Boys Scouts, Girl Scouts, Northridge Christian Church, Chick-fil-A, and LAUSD schools. They currently hold neighborhood cleanups on Thursdays from 8am to 11am at various locations. Tom and the board are motivated to continue their clean-ups because of community pride, it brings neighbors together, and it connects the NC to the community.
